Wyatt Gavit was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 90 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 217 yards and three touchdowns while completing 82.4% of his passes. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024. Kris Wicks was another key player, picking up 54 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Jacksboro's defensive line and their eight sacks. It was truly a group effort as Lucas Cornish, Will Treadway, Josh Salazar, and Jerin Luhrsen picked up two apiece. Salazar also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 16.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 49 points the game before, Millsap was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a blow against Holliday, falling 52-3. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Millsap, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-4.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Jacksboro has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 149.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Millsap struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 243.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Jacksboro against Millsap in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 52-14 victory. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
