Kountze took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They strolled past the Hemphill Hornets with points to spare, taking the game 37-20. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Leading Kountze to victory were Camden Johnson and D'Keylind Taylor. Johnson rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, while Taylor rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns.
