The DASH United's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Community Christian 76-38. While losing is never fun, DASH can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 340th, while Community Christian is ranked 165th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Community Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jared Kovach, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 10 rebounds. Kovach hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Gattis, who scored 23 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
DASH's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Community Christian, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
DASH will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against South Wake at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully South Wake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Saturday. As for Community Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Ahoskie Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
