The Fisher Bunnies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their seventh straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 53-33 defeat at the hands of Eureka. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fisher in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now lost nine in a row.
Defeat or not, Fisher got some senior leadership from Melina Luyando and Jenna Clemmons. Luyando scored 15 points along with two steals, while Clemmons. scored eight points along with eight rebounds. That was a full 45.5% of Fisher's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Fisher has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season. As for Eureka, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing El Paso-Gridley the next time they take the court. Fisher will head out to face the Titans at 5:03 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Hornets will host them at 5:03 p.m. on Thursday.
