In what's become a running theme this season, Columbia Independent gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They breezed by Madison on the road to the tune of 55-24. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Columbia Independent has posted yet this season.
Columbia Independent can attribute much of their success to Eric Dirksmeyer, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dirksmeyer has scored all season. Gabe Martin was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists and two steals.
Columbia Independent is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Madison, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia Independent will take on La Monte at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Madison will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Glasgow on Monday. Glasgow presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Madison in Missouri (Glasgow is ranked 182nd, while Madison is ranked 538th).
