There's no place like home for Wheeling Central Catholic, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They blew past the Bellaire Big Reds 72-45 on Monday. The Maroon Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 22 points or more this season.

Bella Fitzsimmons was a one-woman wrecking crew for Wheeling Central Catholic as she went 7-for-11 from beyond the arc to rack up 23 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. That's the most points Fitzsimmons has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Blake, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards.

Wheeling Central Catholic was working as a unit and finished the game with 28 assists. They racked up 15 more assists than Bellaire's also-impressive total of 13.

When it comes to explaining why Bellaire lost, don't look at Zara Harveth. Despite the final result, she had 12 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Harveth is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Tamya Morgan was another key player, putting up 12 points and six boards.

Wheeling Central Catholic's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. As for Bellaire, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-4.

Wheeling Central Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 73-60 victory against St. Marys on the 5th. As for Bellaire, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 42-41 loss against Union Local on the 6th.
