Mariah Harris was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tyanna Richardson, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.
Warren County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .697. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Oxford Prep suffered their biggest loss since May 10, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Roxboro Community, falling 11-2. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Griffins' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.
Marleigh Swanner and Hailey Crowder did some serious damage despite the final result: Swanner scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Crowder went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Warren County pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 18.0 runs this season. As for Oxford Prep, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Warren County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .479. However, it's not like Oxford Prep struggles in that department as they've averaged .357. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Warren County suffered a grim 19-3 defeat to Oxford Prep in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
