Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Liberty Hill Panthers walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 43-26 win over Harlandale on Friday. Liberty Hill pushed the score to 43-13 by the end of the third, a deficit Harlandale cut but never quite recovered from.
Among those leading the charge was Ben Carter, who rushed for 152 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Dj Seaborn, who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Harlandale's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Palomino, who picked up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Jacob Saucedo, who threw for 211 yards and two touchdowns.
Liberty Hill is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Harlandale, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 7-4.
Liberty Hill will square off against Pioneer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pioneer has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 467 points over their last ten matches. Harlandale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
