The Del Campo Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Christian Brothers by a score of 69-67. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (56), Del Campo still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Del Campo still got an impressive performance from Niko Wedderburn, who scored 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wedderburn has scored all season. Dino Hatzakos was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Shawn Underwood Jr. continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Christian Brothers, scoring 32 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Powers, who scored five points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Del Campo has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Christian Brothers, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9.
Del Campo will head out on the road to take on Vista del Lago at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Christian Brothers, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Capital Christian at 7:00 p.m. Capital Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Christian Brothers in California (Capital Christian is ranked 98th, while Christian Brothers is ranked 203rd).
