Kennedy Grizzle made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off 13 hits (and only one walk). Grizzle was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Sierra Belote was incredible, going 3-for-4 with six stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Vargas, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
The win got Lyons back to even at 1-1. As for Larned, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
