The Cathedral Academy Generals will head out on the road to take on the St. John's Christian Academy Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cathedral Academy is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
Cathedral Academy put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Dorchester Academy 74-40 on the road. Given Cathedral Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Dorchester Academy is ranked 240th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, even though Clarendon Hall scored an imposing 67 points on Tuesday, St. John's Christian Academy still came out on top. St. John's Christian Academy took their game against Clarendon Hall 74-67. The victory made it back-to-back wins for St. John's Christian Academy.
It was another big night for Brock Ray, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 19 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Leonard Huxford, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Cathedral Academy has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. As for St. John's Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-14.
Everything came up roses for Cathedral Academy against St. John's Christian Academy in their previous meeting two weeks ago as the squad secured a 78-50 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cathedral Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
