The Omaha Northwest Huskies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Pius X 91-44. Omaha Northwest was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-24.
Despite the loss, Omaha Northwest had strong showings from Dontae McDowell, who scored 13 points, and Jackson Crawford, who scored ten points.
Treyson Anderson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 46 points and 25 rebounds for Pius X. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cole Randall, who scored 12 points.
Omaha Northwest has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Pius X, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5.
Omaha Northwest will take on the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Millard South focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday. As for Pius X, they and the Links will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lincoln High knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully the Thunderbolts like a good challenge.
