Carson Hawk was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits. Hawk was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Jack Patton was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxyn Hunt, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Waldron was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Morristown.
Waldron saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was J.D. Smith, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. The Mohawks are 2-1 when Smith posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-9 otherwise.
Cambridge City Lincoln now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Waldron, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Cambridge City Lincoln has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Waldron struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Cambridge City Lincoln took their victory against Waldron in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-4 score. Will the Golden Eagles repeat their success, or do the Mohawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
