Eagle Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josie Fitzsimmons, who scored 20 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fitzsimmons has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Zakia Shreeve, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Eagle Valley's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Grand Junction, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eagle Valley will challenge Montrose at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Montrose has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Grand Junction, they will head out on the road to challenge Fruita Monument at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Fruita Monument presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Grand Junction in Colorado (Fruita Monument is ranked 31st, while Grand Junction is ranked 193rd).
