Madisyn Huddleston posted a new career-low in hits on Monday. She struck out 14 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best she's had all season long. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Huddleston and Valmeyer will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sparta at 4:30 p.m. on the 29th.
