It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Saint Andrew's Scots had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They walked away with a 78-68 win over the Eagles. The victory was familiar territory for Saint Andrew's who now have five in a row.
When it comes to explaining why St. John Paul II Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cristian Rosado. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Rosado hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Astiazarain, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Saint Andrew's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.4 points per game. As for St. John Paul II Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 14-11.
Saint Andrew's will play host again and welcome NSU University, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in NSU University's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. St. John Paul II Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
