After flying high against the Irwin County Indians last Tuesday, the Berrien Rebels came back down to earth. Berrien was outmatched by Lowndes at home and fell 77-14. Berrien has not had much luck with Lowndes recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Lowndes' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laila Foster, who scored 8 points along with 16 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Bryana Thomas, who scored 7 points along with 8 steals.
Berrien's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Lowndes, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Berrien will head out on the road to face off against Pelham at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lowndes, they will be playing at home against Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Brunswick focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
