After losing to the Horizon Huskies the last time they met, the Casa Grande Cougars decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Casa Grande came out on top against Horizon by a score of 61-49 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Casa Grande.
Casa Grande found their leader in underclassman Aveon Williams, who scored 27 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Williams is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dewayne Haygood, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Horizon lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ethan Hayes, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hayes has scored all season. Gavin Henss was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Horizon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Casa Grande's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Horizon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
