The Webster Bearcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 57-34 margin over Tiospa Zina. Winning may never get old, but Webster sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Despite the loss, Tiospa Zina had strong showings from Maya Deutsch, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and five steals, and Kami Crawford, who scored eight points along with six rebounds. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her.
Even though they lost, Tiospa Zina were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Webster now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Tiospa Zina, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Webster will finish 2023 at home by hosting Roncalli at 1:30 p.m. on December 30th. Tiospa Zina will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hamlin at 4:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Hamlin presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tiospa Zina in South Dakota (Hamlin is ranked 24th, while Tiospa Zina is ranked 151st).
