The Hiwassee Dam Eagles will take on the Copper Basin Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Copper Basin took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hiwassee Dam, who comes in off a win.
Hiwassee Dam's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on April 3rd. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Cherokee. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Braves: they've now won three in a row.

Olivia McNabb was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Brinkley Payne4 was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Copper Basin entered their contest against Tellico Plains on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Cougars fell just short of the Bears by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Cougars couldn't push the score so high this time.
Copper Basin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kinsley Ross, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Copper Basin's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Hiwassee Dam, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Copper Basin's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Hiwassee Dam has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Copper Basin, though, as they've been averaging only 3 strikeouts. Will Hiwassee Dam keep running through batters, or will the Cougars buck the trend?
