St. Xavier has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Elder Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (St. Xavier is ranked 20th, while Elder is ranked 14th).
Last Saturday, St. Xavier earned a 52-45 win over Lakota West.
St. Xavier's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gordy Sulfsted, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jacob Wassler, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Elder beat La Salle 50-46 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Elder.
St. Xavier is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Elder's record is now 13-1.
St. Xavier lost to Elder on the road by a decisive 59-44 margin when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can St. Xavier avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
