The Waterbury Career Academy Spartans posted their closest win since December 15, 2023 on Monday. They skirted past Woodland Regional 46-43. The win made it back-to-back wins for Waterbury Career Academy.
Among those leading the charge was Sierra Brown, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Malinna Figueroa, who scored ten points.
Waterbury Career Academy's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-6. As for Woodland Regional, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waterbury Career Academy will take on Derby at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Woodland Regional, they will be playing at home against Pomperaug at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pomperaug will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
