Keller Weaver looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Robert Jackson was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Kroehler, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Sun Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .587. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palisades only posted an OBP of .424.
Meanwhile, Stuart W. Cramer fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against East Lincoln on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1. The loss was the Storm's first of the season.
Stuart W. Cramer also got a good showing from Mason Price, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Stuart W. Cramer saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aydan Bradley, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.
Sun Valley's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. As for Stuart W. Cramer, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
