The Torres Toros are on the road again on Friday and play against the Madera South Stallions at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Torres has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 269 points over their last six games.
Torres put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Fresno 63-20 on the road. Given Torres' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 358th, while Fresno is ranked 787th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Madera South, who are still winless after their ninth game. They fell 38-27 to Hoover on Friday. The matchup was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but Madera South was blown out by Hoover in the second.
Torres has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Madera South, their loss was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9.
Torres beat Madera South 29-20 in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Madera South's Angelo Moreno, who rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown.
