The Catholic Crusaders will take on the Christchurch School Seahorses at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Catholic will be strutting in after a victory while Christchurch School will be coming in after a loss.
While Catholic's win against Norfolk Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Catholic came out on top in a nail-biter against Norfolk Christian on Monday, sneaking past 5-4. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Ambassadors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Andrew Hoehn looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Catholic is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-3 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Connor Thompson, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Carson Norton was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Christchurch School was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They came up short against Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, falling 20-1. The contest marked the Seahorses' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Christchurch School also got a good showing from Andrew Claussen, who tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Christchurch School saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cam Byers, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases. Byers is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played.
Catholic's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Christchurch School, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Catholic was able to grind out a solid victory over Christchurch School in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 6-2. Does Catholic have another victory up their sleeve, or will Christchurch School turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
