TEACH on the road again on Tuesday and play against the StoneBridge Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully TEACH focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Saturday.
TEACH suffered their biggest loss yet this season last Saturday. Their tough 71-49 loss to Spirit HomeSchool might stick with them for a while.
Despite their loss, TEACH saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Nikolas Neuhofer, who dropped a triple-double on 14 points, 11 rebounds, and ten blocks, was perhaps the best of all. Neuhofer continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Trey Mozingo, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds.
TEACH struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, StoneBridge entered their tilt with Denbigh Baptist Christian with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. StoneBridge managed a 31-25 win over Denbigh Baptist Christian on Friday.
Tyler Thompson was his usual excellent self, scoring 13 points along with six steals and five rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Boden Brueseke was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
TEACH's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-9. As for StoneBridge, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Tuesday's contest is shaping up to be a scrappy game: TEACH have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 31.8 rebounds per game. It's a different story for StoneBridge, though, as they've been averaging only 27.9 rebounds per game. Given TEACH's sizeable advantage in that area, StoneBridge will need to find a way to close that gap.
