After flying high against the Lebanon Cedars last Friday, the Cedar Crest Falcons came back down to earth. Cedar Crest's rough 65-40 loss to the Pioneers on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. Cedar Crest was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pioneers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Lampeter-Strasburg was led to victory by Dean Herr and Chase Smucker. Herr scored 14 points along with six assists and five rebounds, while Smucker scored 21 points along with six rebounds. Smucker has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. Yasin Abdi was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.
Cedar Crest's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4. As for Lampeter-Strasburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Cedar Crest will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Blue Streaks at 7:30 p.m. Manheim Township will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 389th, while the Falcons are ranked 114th). As for Lampeter-Strasburg, they will head out on the road to face off against the Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
