The Whitehorse Raiders posted their biggest victory yet this season on Thursday. They breezed by Northwest on the road to the tune of 72-33. With that win, Whitehorse brought their scoring average up to 50.8 points per game.
Lyric Phillips was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Whitehorse's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Larenz Tsosie, who scored 15 points.
The victory got Whitehorse back to even at 7-7. As for Northwest, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
Whitehorse will be playing in front of their home fans against Green River at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Green River's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight games. As for Northwest, they will head out on the road to face off against Coronado at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Coronado is ranked 141st, while Northwest is ranked 148th).
