Frankfort has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Cairo Pilots at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Frankfort pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 63-55 to Anna-Jonesboro. Frankfort has not had much luck with Anna-Jonesboro recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Cairo suffered their biggest loss since November 21, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Marion 79-36. While losing is never fun, Cairo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 611th, while Marion is ranked 130th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Maceo Childs, who scored eight points. McKenlee Pirtle was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Frankfort has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Cairo, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-10.
Frankfort beat Cairo 67-58 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Does Frankfort have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cairo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
