Orme's 13-5 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell 42-30 to Verde Valley on Tuesday.
Despite the loss, Orme got a solid performance out of Bartek Kreglewski, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Kreglewski also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Jack Welty was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Caurus Academy suffered their closest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of New Way Learning Academy by a score of 44-42.
Orme bumped their record down to 3-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.8 points per game. As for Caurus Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Orme, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-41 loss to Caurus Academy in their previous matchup on Thursday.
