Softball Recap: Hamilton Snags 11th Victory in Last 13 Games

Hamilton barely beat Corona del Sol the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Huskies blew past the Aztecs 13-2 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Izzy Estevez looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Madison Sauni, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Briley Pinks was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Hamilton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.

Hamilton is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Corona del Sol, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-10.

Coincidentally, Hamilton and Corona del Sol will both be playing Desert Vista the next time they take the field. The Huskies will head out to face the Thunder at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Aztecs will host them at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
