Cole Chatfield was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in six consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Mt. Pleasant is undefeated when Chatfield posts two or more runs, but 3-4-2 otherwise.
In other batting news, Santino Marne and Jordan Grieff did most of the damage at the plate: Marne scored three runs while going 4-for-5, while Grieff scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Those four hits gave Marne a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carter Strayer, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
