Alleghany have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. On Friday they take on Rockbridge County at 7:00 PM. The odds don't look promising for Alleghany, but the bigger the opponent is, the harder they fall.
Alleghany couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 7-28 walloping at Covington's hands. Alleghany got a solid performance out of senior Dustin Hawk, who rushed for 60 yards and 1 touchdown; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win.
Meanwhile, Rockbridge County didn't finish too far behind, but the team still lost 35-40 to Lee last week.
The losses dropped Alleghany to 0-1 and Rockbridge County 1-1. We'll see which team satisfies that hunger and which team leaves with an empty belly.
