The Monument Valley Cougars can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Monticello 62-23 on the road. Winning may never get old, but Monument Valley sure is getting used to it with their 11th in a row.
Monument Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shikeeya Hudson, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shimequa Hudson, who scored 15 points.
Monument Valley pushed their record up to 14-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points per game. As for Monticello, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monument Valley will take on Red Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Red Mesa will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 190th in Arizona, while Monument Valley is ranked 28th in Utah). As for Monticello, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dove Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dove Creek is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
