Papillion-LaVista has gone a perfect 10-0 against Bryan recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Monarchs will be playing at home against the Bears. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Bryan will be up against a hot Papillion-LaVista team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Monarchs were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over Gretna on Saturday.
Jordan McDade looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Luke Bennett, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Evan Eddie was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bryan, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past Benson 14-4 on Saturday. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.
Turner Marlowe made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Marlowe was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Bryce Urban was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. He has become a key player for Bryan: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jacob Lang, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.
Bryan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.2 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.2.
Papillion-LaVista's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Bryan, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
Papillion-LaVista took their win against Bryan in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. Do the Monarchs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
