The Blountstown Tigers lost against the Bozeman Bucks two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Blountstown took a 54-40 bruising from Bozeman. While losing is never fun, Blountstown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 471st, while Bozeman is ranked 188th).
When it comes to explaining why Blountstown lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aidan Richards. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points. Cyion Smith was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Bozeman's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cayden Groves, who scored 19 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Groves has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamie Hernandez, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Blountstown has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Bozeman, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blountstown will take on Graceville at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Graceville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Blountstown likes a good challenge. As for Bozeman, they will head out on the road to take on Arnold at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Arnold: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Bozeman has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road.
