The Billings Senior Broncs lost against the Butte Bulldogs back in August of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Billings Senior took a 42-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Butte. Billings Senior was down 35-9 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Billings Senior's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Maclain Burckley, who picked up 227 receiving yards and four touchdowns, and Ryder Murdock who threw for 325 yards and four touchdowns. Burckley's longest reception was for an incredible 91 yards.
Butte was led to victory by Trey Hansen and Bo Demarais. Hansen rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns, while Demarais rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns. Kyler Stenson was in the mix as well, providing Butte with two touchdowns.
This is the second loss in a row for Billings Senior and nudges their season record down to 4-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-0 Bozeman (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 81.8% over those games). As for Butte, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Billings Senior does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Butte will head out on the road to face off against Bozeman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bozeman is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
