Softball Recap: Tokay Extends Winning Streak to Six

Tokay waltzed into their match on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They never let the Weston Ranch Cougars get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory. Considering the Tigers have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brooklyn Jeremic-Schaede 2027 and Sophia Galletti 2027 were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Jeremic-Schaede 2027 pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Galletti 2027 tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Jeremic-Schaede 2027 has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Jeremic-Schaede 2027 scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Galletti 2027 scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Hannah Nava 2025 and Ava Pasqualicchio 2028 did most of the damage at the plate: Nava 2025 scored three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Pasqualicchio 2028 scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Nava 2025 a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Emma Misasi 2025, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Tokay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Tokay's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Weston Ranch, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.
