The Foundation Christian Academy Panthers just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Brandon Academy Scorpions at 5:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Foundation Christian Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 82-57 margin over American Youth Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Micah Sanders, who dropped a double-double on 36 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Foundation Christian Academy's points. Tyndale Pittman was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals.
Meanwhile, Brandon Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Jefferson on Monday, but they still walked away with a 56-52 victory. The victory was just what Brandon Academy needed coming off of a 50-28 defeat in their prior game.
Foundation Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season. As for Brandon Academy, they pushed their record up to 8-12 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Foundation Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Brandon Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 55-45.
