Covenant Christian Academy can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They breezed by Dominion Christian at home to the tune of 55-21. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Covenant Christian Academy has managed all season.
It was another big night for Gabriel Marvin, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Candland, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Something new happened on Friday as Benjamin Pavlak saw his first action of the season, playing 18 minutes against Dominion Christian. Pavlak made the most of the opportunity, scoring nine points along with five steals. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Meanwhile, Ad Fontes Academy took a serious blow against Fairfax HomeSchool on Friday, falling 75-39. While losing is never fun, Ad Fontes Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while Fairfax HomeSchool is ranked 112th).
Covenant Christian Academy's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9. As for Ad Fontes Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.
