The Wichita Christian Stars lost against the Petrolia Pirates back in December of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Wichita Christian fell to Petrolia 29-24. Wichita Christian has not had much luck with Petrolia recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Petrolia was led to victory by Zoie Bowers and Holland Horton. Bowers scored five points along with five rebounds and five steals, while Horton scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Horton set a new season high mark in blocks with two.
Wichita Christian bumped their record down to 1-4 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Petrolia, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-11 record this season.
Wichita Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Archer City at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Petrolia will be home for the holidays to greet Christ Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
