The Cherry Creek Bruins will head out to take on the Grandview Wolves at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Cherry Creek took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They blew past Arapahoe 13-3. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bruins considering their two-run performance the game before.
Max Goldberg looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Marco Silverman was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Tyson Thome was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Cherry Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arapahoe only posted a batting average of .238.
Meanwhile, Grandview entered their tilt with Smoky Hill on Saturday with 11 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 12. They never let the Buffalo get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory.
Seth Mittleman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Mittleman was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Grandview let Ethan Wachsmann and AJ Maroni run wild. Wachsmann went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Maroni went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Gavyn Bauer, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI and one double.
Cherry Creek's record now sits at 17-4. As for Grandview, their record is now 15-6.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cherry Creek hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .378. However, it's not like Grandview struggles in that department as they've averaged .344. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Cherry Creek's way against Grandview in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as Cherry Creek made off with a 7-1 win. Do the Bruins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
