After two games on the road, Penelope is heading back home. They will take on the Oakwood Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Penelope suffered their biggest loss yet this season two weeks ago. They had to suffer through a rough 48-7 loss at the hands of Avalon. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Penelope has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Oakwood strolled past Bynum with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 44-25.
Jacee Youngblood was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Rai'Miaya Winston was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Penelope's loss was their 11th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.0 points per game. As for Oakwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Penelope might still be hurting after the 44-22 defeat they got from Oakwood in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Youngblood, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Now that Penelope knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
