The Apache Junction Prospectors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Coronado on the road and fell 65-36. Apache Junction has struggled against Coronado recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Apache Junction lost, one person who can't be blamed is Josh Castro. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Omar Adam, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Apache Junction bumped their record down to 6-11 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Coronado, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.
Apache Junction will take on Dysart at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dysart knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 contests -- so hopefully Apache Junction likes a good challenge. As for Coronado, they will head out on the road to challenge Vista Grande at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Vista Grande focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday.
