Baseball Recap: Wiggins Finds Home Field Redemption Against Limon

There's no place like home for Wiggins, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past the Limon Badgers 13-2 on Tuesday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Carston Johnson and Isaac Flores did most of the damage at the plate: Johnson got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Flores went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Flores has become a key player for Wiggins: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 9-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Steinbar, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

The win got Wiggins back to even at 11-11. As for Limon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.

Wiggins will take on Dayspring Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Limon, they will face off against St. Mary's at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Badgers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season.
