On Wednesday, Canandaigua Academy came up short against Albany and fell 54-47. While losing is never fun, Canandaigua Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Albany is ranked 20th).
Albany's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mia Corazzini, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Corazzini is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Johnson, who scored 13 points.
Canandaigua Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Albany, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
Canandaigua Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Shenendehowa at 2:00 p.m. on December 28th. Albany won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Holy Redeemer at 7:00 p.m. on December 28th. Holy Redeemer will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
