Despite the defeat, St. Teresa's Catholic saw an underclassman step up: Sermario MJ Wiggins scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Dyland Rangel, who scored eight points.
First Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan James, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points James has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Peacock, who scored 14 points.
St. Teresa's Catholic bumped their record down to 2-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for First Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 1-6.
St. Teresa's Catholic will be playing in front of their home fans against Colquitt Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Colquitt Christian Academy is ranked 571st, while St. Teresa's Catholic is ranked 561st). First Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Community Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th.
