Moshannon Valley has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Harmony Area Owls at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Moshannon Valley suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Bald Eagle Area at home and fell 56-24. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Moshannon Valley has scored all season.
While Harmony Area couldn't quite beat Blacklick Valley on Wednesday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 26-point loss they were dealt last Monday. Harmony Area fell just short of Blacklick Valley by a score of 66-63. Harmony Area just can't catch a break and has now endured seven defeats in a row.
Jack Bracken put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 38 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. That was a full 60.3% of Harmony Area's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. JJ Sward was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Moshannon Valley's defeat was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-10. As for Harmony Area, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.
Moshannon Valley was dealt a bruising 66-35 defeat at the hands of Harmony Area in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Moshannon Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
