Southwestern has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will  take on the Knox Central Panthers at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Hopefully Southwestern focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
 Last Tuesday, Southwestern took a serious blow against North Laurel, falling  75-46. While losing is never fun, Southwestern can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings  (they are ranked 27th, while North Laurel is ranked fifth).
 Despite the  loss, Southwestern got a solid performance out of   Payton Acey, who  scored 12 points along with eight  rebounds.  Jaelyn Dye was another key contributor,  scoring seven points along with six  assists.
 Meanwhile, Knox Central strolled past Morgan County with  points to spare on Saturday, taking the game  59-42. The  win made it back-to-back wins for Knox Central.
 Southwestern has  not been sharp recently as the team has  lost three of their last four matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 16-9 record  this season. As for Knox Central, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won ten of their last 11 matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record  this season.
 Southwestern didn't have too much breathing room in their  match against Knox Central  in their previous matchup  back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a  52-48 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southwestern since the  team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
