The Stuart Broncos entered their tilt with the Southwest Roughriders with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Stuart strolled past Southwest with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 50-33. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Stuart was led to victory by Benjamin Paxton and Kayde Ramm. Paxton picked up 98 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Ramm threw for 152 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes. Paxton was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 66 yards.
Stuart's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Simon Addison and his two sacks.
Southwest's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mitchell Stritt, who rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Rippe, who rushed for 20 yards and a touchdown.
Stuart's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35.33 points. As for Southwest, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.
Stuart will take on Sumner-Eddyville-Miller at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Sumner-Eddyville-Miller knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Stuart likes a good challenge. Southwest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
